Red Hook Area

Greetings Chamber Members!
The
idea of volunteerism is so important to the growth and success of any
community—the positive influences of volunteering can be seen through
the growth of businesses and tourism as well as the happiness and
success of our citizenry.
There
are so many opportunities to volunteer your time in our community that
spread even further than the reach of the Chamber. Last month,
Red Hook Together, a group consisting of representatives from the
school district, Red Hook Library, Bard College, Village and Town
officials, Red Hook Chamber and RHCAN, worked together to present the
first Volunteer Fair. The Fair was a huge success, and brought
together a wide array of businesses, organizations and programs in an
effort to educate Fair attendees on possibilities for volunteering, and
all its positive benefits.
Red
Hook Together and the Economic Development Committee (EDC) are not the
only local forums created for the purpose of joining elements of the
community and business world together to explore collaboration
efforts. RHCAN, our very active artist group, works tirelessly to
develop Red Hook into an arts destination. The Red
Hook Bicentennial Committee is currently creating a wonderful program
that will celebrate the history of our town as well as educate our
citizens and visitors about the past and present of Red Hook.
In
the spirit of volunteerism, I urge you once again to also consider
donating your time and ideas to the Chamber to assist us in or
continued efforts to support the businesses and citizens of Red
Hook. Please consider a position on the Chamber’s Board of
Directors or on an Executive Committee, if you would like to work with
the Chamber in pursuing it’s mission.
Very Best Regards,
Ed Pruitt

end of the 17th century, the area includes famous apple orchards,
spectacular river valley views, historic homes and well respected
